Raindrops With Stone
This piece is inspired by my attempts to photograph the surface of water during a drizzle. You can see the ripples, but the dimensionality of water is lost. So I developed special software to mimic the physics of surface of water in order to recreate the surface in three dimensions.
The piece even accurately shows how the ripples bounce off the rock, you can see the ripple climbing the side of the rock.
The piece is carved out of a block of HDU with a CNC router, then painted with a coat of automotive paint.
