bristlecone taking flight in the wind
Bristlecone pines might be my favorite thing to shoot. They only grow on the tops of mountains in places no other species can grow. This one is growing on a windy ridge in the Rockies and has been buffeted by wind for over a thousand years. The wind makes the tree only able grow on the lee side of the wind.
